@1412 hrs Co 10 & 11 were dispatched along with Medic 560-3 to 3025 River Road to assist with extricating a patient from the trail above the Muhlenberg Recreation Center. Chief 10, Rescue 10, and Brush 10 made the response @1414 hrs. Chief 10 arrived @ 1418 hrs to find the caller waiting to show him where the patient was located. The patient was located on the other side of a hill approx. 500 yards away from the roadway. With this in mind Chief 10 requested Deputy 10 to see if there was easier access to the trail from a side road located just off River Rd. Deputy 10 and Brush 10 located the road and decided it was wide enough and was able to get to the scene. Brush 10’s crew ascended and descended the hill to make contact with the patient. Once patient contact was made it was determined that the patient could not walk due to an ankle injury, therefore Chief 10 requested a stokes basket and rope rescue equipment. E 10 arrived and assisted in the rope setup. Once the equipment was ready to go a stokes basket was lowered, the patient was packaged up and pulled up the hill. The patient was then positioned and lowered down the other side of the hill, Co 11 was staged at the bottom of the hill to assist with loading the patient into Utility 10. The patient was extricated @ 1510 hrs and Co 10 & 11 were available @ 1524 hrs. Thank you to all crews on location for a quick and safe extrication, great teamwork.
